To support horse racing integration, OLG has worked with the government and industry to establish a committee structure that will deepen its relationships with the industry and begin to lay the foundation for success.
OLG is proceeding with horse racing integration as part of modernization. This means we are putting more of a focus on horse racing’s part in the overall provincial gaming strategy to make sure it has a strong future in Ontario. In the 2015 Ontario Budget, the government “committed to strategically realigning Provincial horse racing regulation, adjudication and funding within government and agencies.”
On Wednesday, June 10, Day 12 of the Pan Am Games Torch Relay presented by President’s Choice® and OLG, the Pan Am flame will visit several Ontario communities, including Parry Sound,Waubaushene, Victoria Harbour, Port McNicoll, Midland, Penetanguishene, Oro-Medonte and Barrie.

Today marked the close of OLG’s Request for Pre-Qualification (RFPQ) for the modernization of lottery. OLG will now undertake its due diligence in evaluating the RFPQ submissions and select potential service providers who are eligible to receive the Request for Proposal (RFP) document.
As discussion about a new GTA gaming entertainment centre continues, there is a natural tendency to compare the gaming experience in other jurisdictions as a way of predicting what the experience might be in Ontario. In some cities casinos are the main tourist attraction and in others casinos are part of an integrated mix of entertainment options.
At the November 5, 2012 Executive Committee meeting, the City Manager presented a preliminary report, “Considering a New Casino in Toronto”, and was directed to conduct a public consultation, provide further analysis, and report back with recommendations.
