Sault receives casino money

The City of Sault Ste. Marie has received $360,540 in its second-quarter non-tax gaming revenue payment for hosting a charitable casino. The money represents the formula agreed to under the Municipality Contribution Agreement that determines the fee cities receive for hosting an OLG gaming facility. The formulas is based on an escalating scale of slot machine revenue that is consistent across all sits in Ontario. To date since the Casino opened, the city has received more than $23.4 million in non-tax gaming revenue.
