Champion Player Health

We embed safer gambling into OLG's culture, governance, decision-making, and day-to-day operations. By putting a focus on player well-being, we make sure safer gambling considerations are reflected across the organization.

Deliver Tailored Supports and Protections

We use research, player insights, and evidence-based policies to promote positive play and provide tailored interventions and resources, including through our PlaySmart program. Using proactive outreach, we engage with players who may be showing signs of elevated risk, connecting them with information, tools, and support to help them stay in control of their play. This helps us strengthen harm prevention efforts and support players throughout their play journey.

We work closely with service providers, government, researchers, and industry experts to continuously improve and extend the reach of safer gambling supports, resources, and expertise across Ontario.

    OLG is a proud member of the North American Association of State and Provincial Lotteries (NASPL). In 2022, OLG became the first Canadian Lottery to be certified by NASPL & the National Council on Problem Gambling through their Responsible Gambling Certification program – at the highest level (Level 3).

    The World Lottery Association certifies lotteries through its internationally recognized responsible gaming framework. OLG has been WLA certified at the highest level (Level 4) since 2010.
