OLG SIGNS 20-YEAR CASINO OPERATING AND SERVICES AGREEMENT FOR OTTAWA AREA GAMING BUNDLE

TORONTO, ON – The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is continuing to build on the progress of its land-based gaming modernization by completing the transition of more than half of the gaming sites in the province to service providers.

Today, OLG signed a 20-year Casino Operating and Services Agreement (COSA) with HR Ottawa, LP for the Ottawa Area Gaming Bundle. HR Ottawa, LP (known as “Hard Rock Casino Ottawa”) now assumes responsibility for the day-to-day operations and assets of OLG Slots at Rideau Carleton Raceway.

The Hard Rock Casino Ottawa partnership consists of HR LP Investor Inc. (owned by Hard Rock International) and RCR Investor Inc. (owned by Rideau Carleton Raceway Holdings Limited).

Modernization allows OLG to retain strategic oversight of the Ontario gaming marketplace while creating the conditions for a vibrant gaming industry in the province. It will also bring new employment and investment to communities across Ontario.

This announcement builds on the news of OLG naming Ontario Gaming GTA LP as the service provider for the GTA Gaming Bundle last month and completing the transition of the North and Southwest Gaming Bundles to Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited in May of this year.

OLG has an internationally recognized Responsible Gambling (RG) program and embeds its high standards for RG into the contracts it has with service providers.

At more than $2.3 billion annually, OLG provides the provincial government with its largest source of non-tax revenue. Modernization helps OLG provide more money to Ontario for key government services.
