OLG ISSUES SECOND QUARTER GAMING REVENUE PAYMENTS TO MUNICIPAL PARTNERS

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is pleased to make second quarter (July 1 – September 30) payments totaling $40,331,124 to 29 communities that host gaming facilities.

So far, during OLG’s fiscal year (April 1, 2023 to March 31, 2024), these 29 communities have received $83,865,131.

These payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.

“OLG continues to be a proud partner in hosting gaming communities,” said Peter Bethlenfalvy, Minister of Finance.  “Municipality Contribution Agreement payments help these municipalities fund priorities such as community infrastructure, parks and recreation and local health care facilities, benefiting families and local residents.”

OLG is proud to share proceeds of casino gaming with local communities, contributing to economic recovery, infrastructure development and job creation.  Payments to host communities are part of OLG’s commitment to Ontario – 100 per cent of OLG’s profits are reinvested in the province.

Over the past eight years, casino service providers have invested more than $2 billion in private sector capital across the province.  Since 2017, these investments have led to the development and opening of seven new casinos, one planned development and additional gaming expansions and non-gaming amenities.

Since 1994, host communities have received more than $2 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.

OLG RELEASES RFP FOR WINDSOR CASINO

TORONTO, ON – Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has released Request for Proposal (RFP) documents to pre-qualified proponents selected to bid on the Windsor casino, which is currently Caesars Windsor.

The RFP will enable OLG to select a highly qualified service provider to handle day-to-day operations while ensuring the long-term competitiveness of the site — so it can continue generating economic benefits for the local community and for Ontario.

Proponents receiving the RFP documents were selected through OLG’s Request for Pre-Qualification process, which closed on May 25, 2023.

The integrity of the procurement process is of the utmost importance to OLG. Public procurements involve information of a commercially sensitive nature. As a result, details of the RFP documents and the names of pre-qualified proponents will not be released by OLG while the process is ongoing.

Additionally, there will be no further communication by OLG about the RFP for the Windsor casino until the selected service provider is announced.

OLG has engaged the services of a Fairness Monitor to provide oversight and advice throughout the procurement process.
