OLG AND WOODBINE BRING THE EXCITEMENT OF HORSE RACING TO MORE ONTARIO BETTORS

TORONTO, ON – Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) players can now bet on live horse races across the province by accessing Woodbine Entertainment Group’s (WEG) horse racing wagering product through OLG.ca and the OLG app.

“We are excited to offer access to this experience to our online players, providing another way for them to engage in the thrilling sport of horse racing,” said Dave Pridmore, OLG’s Chief Gaming Officer. “This collaboration represents an important step in our mandate of supporting the sport and a vibrant, competitive and sustainable horse racing industry in Ontario.”

OLG is the first Canadian provincial lottery and gaming agency to provide access to a horse racing wagering product to its digital players. Through WEG’s product — which is powered by HPIbet, Canada’s leading online platform for betting on horse racing — players on OLG.ca and the OLG app can bet on live races around the world and at Ontario tracks, including The King’s Plate, which is scheduled to take place at Woodbine Racetrack on Saturday, August 16.

WEG, in partnership with OLG, has developed a simple and user-friendly experience for horse racing fans. This new plug-and-play provides access via OLG.ca to WEG’s horse racing product — and the same solution could potentially be used by other gaming operators in Ontario to offer racing to their own customers.

All horse racing bets placed on WEG’s product through OLG.ca and the OLG app are made using pari-mutuel wagering — the only legal form of betting on horse racing in Canada. In this betting model, players bet into a shared pool and winners share the pot, making it a fair and exciting way to play that complies with Canadian laws.

“This launch brings the excitement of horse racing to even more people across the province in a convenient and modern way — enhancing the experience for bettors while driving new interest in our sport,” said Michael Copeland, CEO, Woodbine Entertainment. “It’s another step forward for the growth of horse racing in Ontario, and we’re grateful to OLG for their continued support and willingness to collaborate and innovate alongside us.”

Player health is a top priority for OLG. All players on OLG.ca and the OLG app have access to a wide variety of responsible gambling tools and supports, which help them make informed decisions when they play OLG games.

LIFE-CHANGING PHONE CALL FOR ONTARIO’S NEWEST MULTI-MILLIONAIRE

Toronto, ONBocheng Mei of Toronto made two decisions over the past year and half that changed his life forever. These two choices ultimately resulted in him becoming Ontario’s newest multi-millionaire. Bocheng won the $60 million LOTTO 6/49 Gold Ball jackpot in the May 7, 2025 draw

The 26-year-old’s first decision was to sign up on OLG.ca so he could conveniently buy his LOTTO 6/49 tickets online. Bocheng also selected the “Never Miss A Draw” subscription so his tickets would be purchased automatically for each upcoming draw. “I saw lottery winners in the news and on social media, so I decided to check out OLG.ca,” he recalled, during his Winner Celebration in Toronto. “I do most stuff online, so I picked my own numbers, added ENCORE, and never had to think about it again — because I knew my tickets would be purchased automatically.”

The second life-changing decision Bocheng made was answering his cell phone when an unknown number appeared. The call was OLG, asking him to check his OLG.ca account.  OLG.ca account holders are ‘known players’ with information that connects them to their customer profile. When these players win, they receive an email from OLG informing them that they have won a prize. Bocheng hadn’t checked his OLG.ca account and had missed that special email. “I answered the call, and the person said they were from OLG,” he said. “I started googling them to see if they were legit, as I’ve had enough experience detecting scam calls. I knew they were really OLG representatives because they didn’t ask for any banking information. They just asked me to check my OLG.ca account. That’s when I discovered I had a winning ticket, and it said I’d won $60 million! My hands and feet went numb.”

Disbelief quickly set in. Bocheng said, “The OLG representative walked me through the next steps, and I tried to take it all in, but it all felt like a dream. As soon as I got off the phone with OLG, I had to join a work meeting online and tried to play it cool. Inside, my feelings were all over the place!”

Bocheng, who works in the software industry, logged off his computer at the end of what turned out to be an unusual workday, he took some time to grasp the overwhelming fact that he was about to become a multi-millionaire. His first call to share the incredible news was to his parents. “I tried to be very calm when I told them I’d won a big prize. They wanted to make sure I wasn’t being tricked, but they know I’m always very cautious. When I told them the prize was $60 million, I reassured them they would never need to worry about money again. I told them they could retire and enjoy life. They were so shocked to hear the news.”

It took Bocheng about a week to settle into this life-changing event. Eventually, he told a small group of very close friends. “They were so excited for me and started jumping for joy. I’m not a super expressive person, but they were acting exactly how I was feeling inside. I’m very lucky to have them by my side.”

As Bocheng plans out his new life, there are few things on his immediate bucket list. “I love to learn, so I want to take advantage of various educational opportunities. I also want to explore different cultures, so that means plenty of travel. I really want to experience the Aurora Borealis as well, which may involve to trips to Finland and Iceland.”

Bocheng also plans to purchase a new home in Toronto, but most importantly, he wants to take care of his parents. “I can now change their lives along with my own. I can provide for them now and make so many things happen for all of us that were never possible before.”

Reflecting on his whole winning experience, Bocheng shared one final thought. “Most of my friends don’t buy lottery tickets — I think I’m the only one. But now that this news is out, I think they’ll change their minds!”

The winning ticket was purchased on OLG.ca.

LOTTO 6/49 offers players a chance to win two multi-million dollar jackpots every Wednesday and Saturday, for the same $3 per play.

The Classic Draw offers a fixed $5 million jackpot for every draw, while the Gold Ball Draw guarantees a $1 million prize, or the growing jackpot that starts at $10 million and can exceed $60 million. Click here for more information about the new LOTTO 6/49.

Later, Neil shared the remarkable news with his daughters. “They were very happy for me,” he said, smiling.

With his winnings, Neil plans to buy a house and save for the future.

“Being a winner feels miraculous,” he beamed. “You never know if you’ll be the one.”

SELBY RESIDENT CELEBRATES $1 MILLION ENCORE WIN

TORONTO, ON – Saying “yes” to ENCORE paid off for John Dowling of Selby. He matched all seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the May 17, 2025 LOTTO 6/49 draw to win $1 million!

John, a retiree, has been playing the lottery with OLG for decades. He typically plays twice a week, with LOTTO 6/49 and LOTTO MAX being his go-to games. John adds ENCORE to all his tickets and uses OLG’s Quick Pick feature to make his selections. Now, the father of two is delighted to share how a routine ticket purchase resulted in his first big win!

“The day after the draw, I went to the store to have my ticket validated,” John recalled, during his visit to the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his winnings. “The cashier scanned my ticket and the lottery terminal froze. I think she was even more excited than I was!” he chuckled.

A representative from OLG called the store to start the prize claim process. “When I found out I’d won $1 million, I was shocked!” John said.

As he was driving home from the store, John saw his wife out on a walk with their dog. “I lowered my car window and suddenly got overwhelmed — happy tears started streaming down my face. My wife thought something was wrong and came over to me, asking, ‘What happened?’ I got out of the car, gave her a big hug, and told her ‘We’re millionaires.’”

“My wife was on cloud nine — just so happy and excited,” John said with a smile. After taking a moment to soak it in, the couple headed home to reveal the incredible news to their sons.

“When I got home, I asked my son who was there at the time, ‘What kind of car do you want?’ Then I called my other son and asked him the same question,” John recalled with a grin. “It wasn’t until later that day that I told them I’d won $1 million. They were thrilled!”

With his windfall, John plans to share with his children, buy a new vehicle, and invest.

ENCORE offers 22 ways to win and can be played in conjunction with most lottery games for an extra $1. There are two ENCORE draws every day.

The winning ticket was purchased at Petro-Canada on County Road 41 in Napanee.

OLG ISSUES FIRST QUARTER GAMING REVENUE PAYMENTS TO MUNICIPAL PARTNERS

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is pleased to make first quarter (April 1 – June 30) payments totaling $43,634,211 to 29 communities that host land-based casinos.

These payments to host communities are based on a formula in the Municipality Contribution Agreement that is consistently applied across all land-based casino sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.

“OLG is a strong partner providing substantial benefits to communities across Ontario,” said Stan Cho, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming. “In addition to creating jobs in host gaming communities, OLG’s sharing of local casino revenues with municipalities helps fund important local public services that improve quality of life for residents.”

Since 1994, host communities have received almost $2.3 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.

OLG is proud to share proceeds of casino gaming with local communities, contributing to economic development including infrastructure and job creation. Payments to host communities are part of OLG’s commitment to Ontario, which includes reinvesting 100 per cent of OLG’s profits back into the province.

Over the past nine years, service providers have invested more than $2.8 billion in private sector capital investment across the province. These investments have led to the development and opening of seven new casinos, one large-scale resort development/expansion, and many gaming floor expansions and new non-gaming amenities.

OLG CELEBRATES 50 YEARS BY TURNING ONTARIO INTO ‘WINTARIO’

TORONTO, ON – Ontario, it’s time to celebrate! For 50 years, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has been part of Ontario’s winning story — delivering exciting moments to players and over $62 billion to support communities since 1975.

With the help of Ottawa-born actor Jay Baruchel and Toronto’s Faye Dance, original host of the WINTARIO Live broadcast, OLG is marking this milestone with the launch of “Welcome to Wintario” – a celebration honouring five decades of play, community support and lasting impact. Over the next six months, OLG will be rolling out a series of 50th themed games and contests, and bringing wins to community events across Ontario, beginning with the Ottawa Jazz Festival this upcoming weekend.

“OLG’s first lottery game, WINTARIO, started it all, bringing excitement to communities and laying the foundation for the impact we’ve made across the province,” said Duncan Hannay, President and CEO of OLG. “With 100 per cent of our profits staying right here in Ontario supporting priorities like health care, amateur sport, charities and more, every play with OLG is a winning one. To say thank you to the players and communities that have been part of our legacy, we’re delivering even more wins to Ontario this year.”

To kick it all off, OLG is launching WINTARIO50, a new limited-time, raffle-style lottery game available now until the one-time draw on August 14, 2025. WINTARIO50 offers 800 guaranteed prizes worth a total of more than $5 million. Plus, OLG is giving more than $1 million to Ontario communities through the WINTARIO50 Community Contest.

With each WINTARIO50 purchase, players have a chance to win up to $50,000 in the lottery game. Players also have an opportunity to enter the WINTARIO50 Community Contest for a separate chance to win a $5,000 personal prize and to nominate a United Way region for a chance for it to win up to $250,000 from OLG.[1]

WINTARIO50 can be purchased for one play for $5 or three plays for $10 and is available at participating lottery retail locations across Ontario or on OLG.ca. Visit www.olg.ca/wintario50 for more information about how to play, prizing details and odds of winning.

Stay up to date by visiting Welcome to WINTARIO.

OLG promotes responsible gambling and is committed to helping players create and maintain smart play habits. OLG’s PlaySmart program helps players enjoy games in a responsible way.

[1] In support of United Way. Contest ends August 18, 2025. No Purchase Necessary. 18+, Ontario only. Community Prize: Each nominated United Way Centraide Ontario region (“Community”) has a chance to win one of 26 prizes ranging from $5000-250,000. BACKGROUNDER: WELCOME TO WINTARIO! OLG CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OF WINNING AND GIVING BACK

THE GAME THAT STARTED IT ALL: WINTARIO

  • WINTARIO – Ontario’s first provincial lottery game – broadcast its first draw live in Toronto on TV on May 15, 1975.
  • OLG held live WINTARIO broadcast draws – hosted by Fred Davis and Faye Dance – in cities across Ontario, travelling over 10,400 kilometers each year and giving away hundreds of thousands of dollars in lottery prizes and creating great legacies in Ontario communities.
  • More than 600 live WINTARIO draws were held across the province.
  • Production crews who helped air the live travelling shows logged an estimated distance of nine and a half times around the world, just in Ontario.
  • WINTARIO game proceeds were dedicated to promote physical fitness, sports, cultural and recreational activities.
  • WINTARIO, in a joint effort with communities and individuals, funded 33,000 non-capital and capital projects in the areas of sports, fitness, recreation and culture. Key community facilities including arenas, art galleries, recreation centres and libraries became realities in communities large and small.
  • The final draw for the original WINTARIO game was held on January 4, 1990.
  • WINTARIO Extra launched in 1990 and included an INSTANT game along with a draw. The game ran until 1996.
  • Since its retirement in 1996, OLG has brought back the WINTARIO brand in various ways to celebrate the game that started it all.

OLG’S WINNING HISTORY

  • 100% of OLG’s profits are reinvested back into the province. Since 1975, OLG has generated approximately $62 billion for the people and province of Ontario, which has helped support provincial priorities such as health care, the treatment and prevention of problem gambling, support for amateur athletes, and other initiatives. Each year, profits from OLG’s operations also support host communities, Ontario First Nations, lottery retailers and local charities across the province
  • Here are just some of the ways OLG made an impact in the 2023-24 fiscal year:
    • More than $2.6 billion in lottery prizes to players
    • $2.4 billion net profit to the province which was directed by the Government of Ontario to provincial priorities
    • $762 million in support for local economies
      • $113 million in direct funding to Ontario’s horse racing industry
      • $163 million in payments to the Ontario First Nations through the Gaming Revenue Sharing and Financial Agreement
      • $167 million paid to municipalities and Ontario First Nations that host Land-based Casino Gaming facilities and Charitable Gaming Centres
      • $319 million in commissions paid to the 10,000 lottery retailers across the province
    • $96 million in Charitable Gaming proceeds for participating local charities
    • $1.7 million in community sponsorships including festivals and events such as Bon Soo Winter Carnival, Pride Toronto, Gathering at the Rapids Pow Wow, Wake the Giant Music Festival, Francophonie en Fête, and more.
    • OLG is proud to be a longstanding supporter of amateur athletes in Ontario. Since 2006, OLG and the Ontario Government have supported high-performance amateur athletes through Quest for Gold, which provides direct financial support to thousands of amateur athletes, enhancing their ability to train by offsetting the costs of training and living expenses.

BE PART OF OLG’S 50th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

  • In addition to rolling out special 50th themed games and contests, OLG will be popping up at community events across Ontario to say thank you for a great 50 years of giving back and offer even more opportunities to win.

OLG ADVANCES INCLUSION WITH FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND ACCESSIBLE ICASINO GAME

TORONTO, ON – Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is supporting accessibility in the iGaming industry with the launch of Red Panda Tails of Wealth – the first digital slot game designed with built-in accessible features to support players with disabilities.

In the popular digital casino landscape, people with disabilities often face barriers to participation. Instead of waiting for change, OLG is driving it by introducing the industry’s first inclusive gaming experience that provides the same fun and excitement to all players.

“We are excited to launch Red Panda Tails of Wealth on olg.ca, which is the result of a focused effort to put accessibility at the forefront of game design,” said Dave Pridmore, OLG’s Chief Gaming Officer. “The game is a proof of concept that shows how removing barriers to play can move us towards a more inclusive future in the gaming industry.”

With nearly one-third (28 per cent; StatCan 2022) of Ontarians reporting a disability, the launch of Red Panda Tails of Wealth breaks barriers and provides more equitable access to play for an often-overlooked audience.

While Red Panda Tails of Wealth mirrors the appearance and gameplay of other iCasino slot games in market, it is built with universal design principles to deliver a fun, inclusive and user-friendly experience for all players.

Key accessibility features include:

  • Compatibility with assistive technologies like screen readers and keyboard navigation
  • A high-contrast colour palette for enhanced visibility
  • An accessible heads-up display engineered to integrate seamlessly into future games

To develop this first-of-its-kind game, OLG collaborated with Pixiu Gaming and Light & Wonder Spark. To ensure the game was accessible and inclusive OLG partnered with Fable a Toronto-based company that connects organizations with people with disabilities for digital accessibility insights.

The insights from people with disabilities collected via remote user testing sessions played a key role in helping OLG create a game that meets real-world accessibility needs.

“Our mission at Fable is to empower people with disabilities to participate, contribute, and shape society and this is how true accessibility is achieved,” said Kate Kalcevich, Head of Innovation at Fable. “We’re thrilled to partner with OLG, who recognize the importance of embedding the voices and experiences of people with disabilities throughout the development of their new game.”

Red Panda Tails of Wealth is now available for play at OLG.ca.

OLG SELECTS SERVICE PROVIDER FOR WINDSOR CASINO

TORONTO, ON – Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has selected Caesars Entertainment Windsor Limited as the service provider for the Windsor casino, following a competitive procurement process — the final procurement process in OLG’s Land-based Gaming modernization initiative.

Caesars Entertainment Windsor Limited will continue day-to-day operations of the Windsor casino in the Windsor Gaming Bundle on behalf of OLG under an approximate 20-year operating agreement. OLG expects to complete the transition to the new agreement in early 2026.

To OLG, the integrity of its procurement process is of the utmost importance. In order to ensure an open and transparent process, OLG engaged the services of an impartial Fairness Monitor to provide advice throughout the process, as well as provide oversight on the fairness of the procurement.

While Caesars Entertainment Windsor Limited will be responsible for the day-to-day gaming operations of the Windsor casino, OLG will, among other things, continue to conduct and manage gaming at the site and require the service provider to uphold the high standards of OLG’s Responsible Gambling program.

In addition, OLG will continue to make Municipality Contribution Agreement (MCA) payments to the City of Windsor. Since 1994, OLG has provided more than $131 million in MCA payments to the city as a gaming host community.

OLG is also requiring Caesars Entertainment Windsor Limited to retain current casino employees for a period of no less than 18 months. This is consistent with employee transitions to service providers at all other casinos in Ontario through land-based gaming modernization. Unionized employees will be governed by the terms of their collective agreement.

Through its Land-based Gaming modernization, OLG has been transferring day-to-day operations of casinos to private sector service providers who are investing in Ontario communities. OLG has previously selected service providers and transitioned operations of gaming sites in eight other gaming bundles. Gaming bundles are groups of one or more gaming zones — geographical areas where a single gaming facility may be located.

To date, those service providers have invested more than $2.5 billion in communities across the province, which both encourages local economic growth and helps OLG increase its contribution to the Province of Ontario. OLG will continue to work with its Land-based Gaming partners to support the long-term vibrancy and excitement of the casino experience in Ontario for years to come.

OLG ISSUES FOURTH QUARTER GAMING REVENUE PAYMENTS TO MUNICIPAL PARTNERS

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is pleased to make fourth quarter (January 1 – March 31) payments totaling $27,301,476 to 29 communities that host gaming facilities.

OLG ISSUES THIRD QUARTER GAMING REVENUE PAYMENTS TO MUNICIPAL PARTNERS

SAULT STE. MARIE, ON – Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is pleased to make third quarter (October 1 – December 31) payments totaling $33,502,228 to 29 communities that host gaming facilities.

So far, during OLG’s fiscal year (April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025), these 29 communities have received $115,166,532.

These payments to host communities are based on a formula in the Municipality Contribution Agreement that is consistently applied across all land-based casino sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site.

“Host municipalities across Ontario gain tangible benefits from the jobs and economic activity fostered by land-based gaming in their community,” said Stan Cho, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming. “In addition, OLG’s host payments fund critical infrastructure, parks and recreation facilities, and countless local programs and initiatives that help make our communities better places to live, work, and play.”

Since 1994, host communities have received more than $2.2 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.

OLG is proud to share proceeds of casino gaming with local communities, contributing to economic development including infrastructure and job creation. Payments to host communities are part of OLG’s commitment to Ontario, which includes reinvesting 100 per cent of OLG’s profits back into the province.

Over the past eight years, service providers have invested more than $2.5 billion in private sector capital investment across the province. These investments have led to the development and opening of seven new casinos, one large scale resort development, numerous gaming floor expansions and new non-gaming amenities.

OLG ROLLS OUT SELF-SERVE LOTTERY TECHNOLOGY ACROSS ONTARIO

TORONTO, ON – Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has begun the gradual rollout of self-serve lottery in select retail locations across the province. The launch follows a successful pilot of a small number of terminals that took place earlier this year in the GTA and Sault Ste. Marie.

This new self-serve approach to purchasing lottery products was well-received in the pilot, with customers appreciating the convenience and variety of options. Through the terminals, customers can purchase all national and regional draw-based lottery games, as well as a variety of INSTANT products, using debit and credit cards (including Google Wallet and Apple Pay). While self-serve lottery offers a new, convenient option, consumers will continue to have the choice to purchase lottery tickets at retail counters and online at OLG.ca.

“Improving the customer experience is a priority for OLG and expanding self-serve lottery gives Ontarians a great new way to buy their favourite lottery games,” says Nancy Kennedy, OLG’s Chief Lottery and Customer Officer. “When OLG’s lottery business grows, it also means more commissions for hardworking local retailers, as well as more money going right back into Ontario communities.”

OLG engaged its retail partners and other industry stakeholders to inform and collaborate on the introduction of this safe, secure and convenient access to lottery products. Full rollout will continue into 2025 with up to 1,400 self-serve lottery terminals in place across the province.

As with all its products, OLG prioritized player health in the development of self-serve lottery, with age verification and tailored responsible gambling messaging fully integrated into the terminals. As an additional security measure, the terminals can be disabled remotely by the retailer.

For more information on self-serve lottery and to find a terminal in your community, visit our website. Locations will be updated on OLG’s website as self-serve lottery continues to rollout across the province.

Every play with OLG is a winning one because all profits are reinvested into communities. Last fiscal year, OLG delivered $2.4 billion back to Ontario, with the sale of lottery tickets making up almost half of that amount.

OLG promotes responsible gambling and is committed to helping players create and maintain smart play habits. PlaySmart, OLG’s award-winning program, helps players enjoy games in a responsible way.

OLG EXTENDS WINDSOR CASINO OPERATING AGREEMENT AS IT CONTINUES COMPETITIVE PROCUREMENT PROCESS FOR LONG-TERM OPERATOR

TORONTO, ON – Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) today announced it is exercising its option to further extend its casino operating agreement with Caesars Entertainment Windsor Limited (Caesars), the current operator of the Windsor Casino, for an additional seven months to March 2026.

In August 2022, OLG announced it was extending its contract with Caesars, under the same terms and conditions, by one year to August 2025. The extension included the option for OLG to further extend the term for a minimum of six months and up to a maximum of 12 months, ending no later than August 2026.

OLG is currently conducting a competitive procurement process to select a highly qualified service provider to handle day-to-day operations of the Windsor Casino.

The service provider will help ensure the long-term competitiveness of the site — so it can continue generating economic benefits for the local community and for Ontario. Extending the current operating agreement will ensure sufficient time to complete the procurement process and transition the day-to-day operations to the successful proponent.

The integrity of the procurement process is of the utmost importance to OLG.

Public procurements are complex and involve information of a commercially sensitive nature. As a result, procurement details and the names of pre-qualified proponents will not be released by OLG while the process is ongoing.

Additionally, there will be no further communication by OLG about the Windsor Casino procurement until the selected service provider is announced. OLG expects to announce the successful proponent by spring 2025.

LOTTO MAX THRIFT DROP COULD TAKE YOU FROM RETRO TO RICHES

TORONTO, July 4, 2024 – You’ve heard of “dress for the job you want,” but what about dressing for the dream you want? The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) and LOTTO MAX are giving Ontarians the chance to do just that with a new limited-edition upcycled clothing collection that also includes a lottery bonus that can be used toward one year’s worth of LOTTO MAX tickets.*

The LOTTO MAX Thrift Drop collection includes a limited number of handmade hoodies, jackets and shirts made entirely from thrifted textiles. International fashion designer, Kevin Leonel, known for his nostalgic, high-fashion pieces made from upcycled and reimagined sports memorabilia, created the LOTTO MAX-inspired unique thrifted collection.

“I’m a dreamer, myself. That’s how I got to be here, doing what I love,” said Kevin Leonel. “Numbers can be special for people. It’s a way to connect with your dreams. My team and I really enjoyed assembling these pieces for LOTTO MAX knowing each number we sewed on could give someone the chance to go from retro to riches.”

Each one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art features seven numbers sourced from thrifted textiles which could be used as the seven numbers players pick when they play LOTTO MAX.

The LOTTO MAX Thrift Drop collection goes on sale on July 22, 2024. Sign up on OLG.ca/ThriftDrop by July 21, 2024 to receive a link to the sale website as soon as it becomes available (quantities are limited).

Ontarians can also check out the LOTTO MAX Thrift Drop Pop-Up at The Well in Toronto from July 12 – 14 to view the collection in-person, and get a chance to win a piece of the LOTTO MAX Thrift Drop collection for FREE, 1x $500 Ticket Master Gift Card, and 1x $100 OLG Gift Card.**

“LOTTO MAX Thrift Drop combines fun with style, while maintaining OLG’s commitment to give back to local communities,” said Melissa Finley, Director, National Draw Based Games, OLG. “The last time LOTTO MAX dropped a clothing line, it sold out in 24 hours. We wanted to give more Ontarians the chance to not just look like a million bucks, but to experience the thrill of LOTTO MAX and have a chance to win millions, too.”

The Thrift Drop Collection includes one-of-a kind garments in four styles:

  • Knitted Split Hoodie
  • Vintage Lace Jacket
  • Vintage Lace Shirt
  • Split T-Shirt

LOTTO MAX Thrift Drop was inspired by recent sustainable consumer shopping trends and an increased demand for second-hand and vintage items. When asked, almost half of Canadians said they had purchased second-hand in 2023 (Statista). Year-over-year interest in thrifting has also surged about 48% online, according to NextAtlas. When speaking to Gen Z specifically, 83% of Gen Z already hope or are willing to thrift second-hand items (Thred Up).

The collection took five months to create, sourcing approximately 700 different textiles and over 7,000 numbers from thrift sellers.

RETRO TO RICHES TO REINVESTMENT

All proceeds from the LOTTO MAX Thrift Drop collection will be donated to EcoEquitable, a registered charity based in Ottawa that is dedicated to reducing textile waste and empowering women through sewing skills development.

OLG chose to partner with EcoEquitable because of their commitment to thrifting and upcycling, and their mission to educate and employ self-identifying newcomer women to sew professionally. Their mission is reflective of OLG’s core values of doing good for the people and communities of Ontario.

OLG reinvests 100 per cent of its profits, including profits from LOTTO MAX, back into local Ontario communities. As one of the largest non-tax revenue generators for the province, OLG delivered $2.4 billion back to Ontario last fiscal year, with the sale of lottery tickets making up almost half of that amount.

ABOUT LOTTO MAX

OLG’S NEW LIMITED-EDITION QUEST FOR GOLD INSTANT GAME FEATURES ONTARIO AMATEUR ATHLETES

TORONTO, ON – Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation’s (OLG’s) new $2 INSTANT QUEST FOR GOLD game is here just in time for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games!

Ontario’s Quest for Gold program supports high-performance amateur athletes, easing the financial burden of training and living expenses, enabling them to pursue their Olympic and Paralympic dreams.

OLG is proud to be a longstanding supporter of amateur athletes in Ontario. This year, the Quest for Gold tickets feature seven Ontario amateur athletes who have received Quest for Gold funding during their careers:

  • Mariam Abdul-Rashid, Oshawa (Athletics)
  • Khamica Bingham, Caledon (Athletics)
  • Charlotte Bolton, Tillsonburg (Para Athletics)
  • Kyra Constantine, Brampton (Athletics)
  • Danny Demyanenko, Toronto (Volleyball)
  • Gabriel Ferron-Bouius, Ottawa (Paralympic Canoe & Sprint Kayak)
  • Ydris Hunter, Ottawa (Canoe, Sprint Kayak)

You can get to know each athlete here.

Every play with OLG is a winning one because 100 per cent of OLG’s profits support key government priorities – including support for amateur athletes. With each purchase of this limited-edition INSTANT lottery game, Ontarians also have a chance to win one of four top prizes of $35,000.

“OLG remains dedicated to supporting and promoting Ontario’s Quest for Gold athletes. This year’s $2 INSTANT QUEST FOR GOLD game highlights seven of Ontario’s high-performance athletes, including Olympians and Paralympians whose journeys have been made possible with help from Quest for Gold funding,” says Nancy Kennedy, OLG’s Chief Lottery and Customer Officer. “This is just one of the many ways OLG champions amateur sport in Ontario.”

The new $2 INSTANT QUEST FOR GOLD is available at retailers across Ontario. Get them while quantities last!
