Promotion Eligibility, Chances of Winning and Skill Testing Question Requirements

  1. The Post-Pandemic Horse Racing Economic Impact Survey Contest (the “Promotion”) is sponsored by Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (“OLG”) and is open to residents of Ontario, who (at the time of participation): (i) Successfully completed the 2023-2024 Economic Impact Study horseperson survey; (ii) are eighteen (18) years of age or older; (iii) were active participants in Ontario’s horse racing industry during the 2023 racing season, all as determined by OLG in its sole discretion (“Eligible Participants”). Volunteers, employees, officers and directors of OLG, Ontario Racing Board members, Ontario Racing Management and the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (“AGCO”) are not eligible to participate.
  2. Eligible Participants will be informed of this promotion via opt in messaging contained in the Post-Pandemic Horse Racing Economic Impact Survey.
  3. The chance of being selected in the promotion prize draw held at the end of the promotional period is dependent on the number of Eligible Entries received for the draw.
  4. In the event a Selected Entrant does not meet the eligibility requirements, then OLG has no obligation to award any Prize to that Selected Entrant.
  5. In order to be declared a winner, the selected entrant will be required to correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question. All answers are final, and if incorrect, the selected entrant will not receive the prize.

How to Enter (no purchase necessary)

  1. The “Promotion Period” is as follows:
  • From Thursday March 21, 2024, 9:00 a.m. ET until Friday May 31, 2024, 11:59p.m. ET.
  1. All promotion ballot entries are electronic.

There is (1) ways to obtain an entry for the promotion prize draw.

  1. Beginning on Thursday March 21, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. ET until Friday May 31, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET, all Eligible Participants can enter into the Promotion by visiting Post-Pandemic Horse Racing Economic Impact Survey – Ontario (qualtrics.com), successfully completing the horseperson survey and opting into receive communication from OLG  (“Eligible Entry”).    Limit: One (1) Eligible Entry per Eligible Participant per Promotion.
  2. In order to be eligible to participate in the Promotion Prize draw, Eligible Entries must be completed before the end of the Promotion Period. Only those Eligible Entries with a valid opt-in consent, first and last name, verified participation in Ontario’s horse racing industry during the 2023 racing season will be eligible to win.

Promotion Prize Draw

  1. Eligible Entries be electronically entered into the Promotion Prize draw where they will be eligible to win one (1) OLG Stage at Fallsview Package (approximate value $1,600 CAD). One (1) package will be awarded. The package will include the following items (“Prize”):
  • Two (2) nights accommodation at Fallsview Casino
  • Two (2) tickets to any show at OLG Stage at Fallsview Casino (based on availability) from June 1-November 30, 2024
  • $100 Dining Voucher for Fallsview Casino
  • $100 Slot Play for Fallsview Casino

Limit: One (1) Prize per person.  One (1) Prize will be eligible to be won, totaling $1,600 (CAD). Surveys received by the OLG that do not meet eligibility requirements and/or received by the OLG later than Friday May 31, 2024, 11:59 p.m. ET, will not be eligible to participate into the electronic draw.

  1. On or after 9:00 a.m. ET on June 3, 2024 but before 11:59 p.m. ET on June 5, 2024, one (1) primary electronic ballot (“Primary Selected Entrant”) and five (5) contingency electronic ballots (Back-Up Selected Entrants”) (collectively “Selected Entrants”) will be randomly drawn from all Eligible Entries received by OLG during the Promotion Period.
  2. Attempts will be made to award the Primary Selected Entrant with the Prize by contacting the Primary Selected Entrant at their telephone number (as recorded in the Post-Pandemic Horse Racing Economic Impact Survey), from 9:00 a.m. ET to 10:00 p.m. ET for fourteen (14) business days after the draw. The Primary Selected Entrant is responsible for returning any telephone messages left by an OLG representative within the time frame stipulated in the message in order to remain eligible to win the Prize.  If at the end of this time period, the Primary Selected Entrant have not been contacted, the Primary Selected Entrant is no longer eligible to win the Prize and the same process will be carried out to attempt to contact the Back-Up Selected Entrants. Back-Up Selected Entrants will be used as required, in the order that they were drawn.
  3. If attempts made by phone are not successful (or if the Primary Selected Entrant has not given consent to receive phone calls) the Primary Selected Entrant Can be Contacted at the email address provided in Post-Pandemic Horse Racing Economic Impact Survey.  Primary Selected Entrant is responsible for responding to the email left by an OLG representative within the time frame stipulated in the message in order to remain eligible to win the Prize.  If at the end of this time period, the Primary Selected Entrant have not been contacted, the Primary Selected Entrant is no longer eligible to win the Prize and the same process will be carried out to attempt to contact the Back-Up Selected Entrants. Back-Up Selected Entrants will be used as required, in the order that they were drawn.
  4. All phone calls and contact attempts for Selected Entrants will cease at 10:00 p.m. ET on July 30, 2024. If no Primary or Back-Up Selected Entrant is contacted or declared a winner and/or if the Prize is not claimed by that time, then the Prize will not be awarded and OLG has no obligation to award any substitute prize.
  5. Prize must be claimed in person at the reception desk at Fallsview Casino, prior to November 30, 2024. If the Primary Selected Entrant or Back-Up Entrant do not claim the Prize within the time limits specified, the Prize will not be awarded and OLG has no obligation to award any substitute prizes to those contestants. In order to claim the Prize, the Selected Entrant must present valid government issued photo identification.
  6. Prizes are non-transferable.

General Rules

  1. Members’ names may be announced on OLG.ca when announcing and/or awarding the prize.
  2. Any personal information provided by Eligible Participants is collected pursuant to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation Act, 1999 and is intended to be used for the following principal purposes: conducting the Post-Pandemic Horse Racing Economic Impact Survey, facilitating the promotion associated with the survey,  for OLG’s internal business purposes; for the purpose of disclosing personal information to the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, law firms, and law enforcement agencies for security, health and safety, and legal or regulatory compliance reasons; and to comply with legal requirements.  OLG may also provide personal information to its agents, suppliers and service providers in conjunction with providing Eligible Participants with OLG’s product and services.
  3. Once received by the OLG, all electronic ballots will be at all times the property of the OLG and none will be returned. Electronic ballots which have been obtained or made through fraudulent means are subject to disqualification. OLG will not be responsible for delays in completing the Post-Pandemic Horse Racing Economic Impact Survey for any reason whatsoever, or for any incorrect or inaccurate capture of information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone, computer line or network, computer equipment, software or any combination of thereof. Where such failures cannot be corrected immediately or within a reasonable time frame to allow for a continuation of the Promotion, the OLG may use a manual back up system and/or disqualify the affected Eligible Participant. 
  4. All decisions of OLG or its designated agency with respect to any element of this promotion are final.
  5. In the event that an Selected Entrant does not meet the eligibility requirements, then the OLG has no obligation to award any prize(s) to that entrant.
  6. Before receiving the Prize and being declared a winner, Selected Entrant will be required to sign and return within the timelines communicated by OLG, a declaration and release form (“Form”), confirming promotion eligibility, compliance with the promotion rules and releasing OLG including any management agency and any independent judging organization from any liability in connection with the conduct of the Promotion and/or the awarding of the Prize, and also successfully answer a mathematical skill testing question. Failure to complete and return the Form and/or to successfully answer the skill-testing question will result in forfeiture of the Prize, and OLG reserves the right in its sole discretion in such circumstance to award the Prize to the next Back Up Selected Entrant.
  7. OLG will not be responsible for errors in database entries.
  8. No Prize substitutions will be made, save for OLG’s right, at its sole discretion, to make a Prize substitution of equivalent value.      
  9. OLG is not responsible for commencing, continuing or completing any components to the “Post-Pandemic Horse Racing Economic Impact Survey” promotion, or awarding Prize in the event of circumstances beyond OLG’s control, and OLG may, at its sole discretion, change or alter this Promotion, as OLG deems necessary.
  10. Eligible Participants with self-excluded or trespassed status as determined by OLG, will not be eligible for any Prize associated with OLG contests, promotions, tournaments or giveaways.
  11. All dates and time listed in these Rules and Regulations are approximate and subject to change.
  12. Eligible Participants who have indicated no phone consent when completing the survey may not be telephoned by OLG to be advised of their Prize, and if they have no other contact within the survey the Eligible Participant will not be eligible to win the Prize.
  13. OLG reserves the right to verify the full legal name and address of the claimant with the information provided on the survey. Valid government issued photo identification or a form of valid government issued non-photo identification will be required to claim the prize. If the Prize is not claimed in accordance with these Rufles and Regulations, the prize will not be awarded and OLG has no obligation to award any substitute prize.
  14. It is the participating person’s responsibility to verify that the telephone number or email address provide is accurate. OLG will not be responsible for typing or keying errors from the participant.
  15. All references to times and dates reflect Eastern Time.
  16. These Official Rules and Regulations govern the Promotion and must be followed and by agreeing to participate in the Promotion, all Eligible Participants agree to comply with, and be bound by these Official Rules and Regulations.
  17. This Promotion is subject to the Laws of the Province of Ontario and the Federal laws of Canada as applicable.
  18. Prizes are non-transferable.
  19. OLG may, at its sole discretion, change or alter this Promotion at any time, as OLG deems necessary.
