OLG STRENGTHENS EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP PRESENCE IN SAULT STE. MARIE

TORONTO, ON – OLG is proud to welcome its newest Executive Leadership Team member, Esther Zdolec, who is joining the organization as Senior Vice President, People and Culture. Ms. Zdolec will begin her new role on January 16, 2023 and will serve as the senior executive leader at OLG’s head office location in Sault Ste. Marie.

“We are delighted that Esther is joining OLG and will be residing in the wonderful community of Sault Ste. Marie,” said Duncan Hannay, OLG’s President and CEO. “This appointment builds on our commitment to strengthen our executive leadership presence in the Soo — and we believe Esther will be a great addition to our high-performing team and will be an engaged community leader in the city.”

Most recently, Ms. Zdolec has been Vice President, Organizational Effectiveness and Human Resources at Fleming College, Peterborough. In this role, she was responsible for the full range of human resources and labour relations services across the college. Previously, Ms. Zdolec held executive roles in both the public and private sector, including Executive Vice President, Human Resources at Infrastructure Ontario, a crown agency of the government of Ontario, as well as Vice President, Human Resources at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories, and Senior Vice President, Human Resources at Candu Energy and SNC-Lavalin. Ms. Zdolec also worked for OLG in Sault Ste. Marie early in her career as Manager, Human Resources.

“I appreciated the opportunity to meet with OLG President and CEO, Duncan Hannay shortly after I was elected to discuss growing OLG’s operations locally, and the relocation of an executive leadership position to Sault Ste. Marie is certainly a positive development,” said Sault Ste. Marie Mayor, Matthew Shoemaker. “The City is committed to continue working with the OLG to ensure as many positions as possible are located at the headquarters in Sault Ste. Marie.”

Ms. Zdolec’s commitment to workplace culture, empowering and growing employees, and fostering diversity and inclusion, along with her experience in both the public and private sector, will be invaluable as OLG continues to advance its winning culture and positions itself as a destination for top talent.

“I’m pleased to be rejoining OLG in my new role and am excited about returning to the Soo,” said Ms. Zdolec. “OLG has a great reputation as an employer and I look forward to playing a role in building its winning culture, especially in the community. Sault Ste. Marie offers many competitive advantages to OLG, and we want to grow our talented workforce in the city.”

As one of the top employers in Sault Ste. Marie and an integral part of the vibrant community, OLG is committed to continuing to create good local jobs by growing our workforce, partnering with local organizations and businesses, and sponsoring many important community projects and events in the region.
