Toronto, ON – Congratulations to Matthew R. of Sudbury on winning a $275,000 prize with THE BIG SPIN SCRATCH ticket (Game #3116).

Matthew enjoys playing a variety of games with OLG, including LOTTO MAX, LOTTO 6/49, and SCRATCH tickets. Father’s Day brought an extra reason to celebrate this year, as he played THE BIG SPIN and uncovered his first major win. “It was a day to remember,” he said.

Before getting on the bus, Matthew picked up his BIG SPIN ticket for the ride. “I scratched it and it said ‘SPIN,’ so I brought it to the store. When I had it validated, the screen froze. I knew I won something big,” he recalled while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto for his BIG SPIN event. “I talked to someone from OLG on the phone and I was in shock! I had to tell someone.”

Eager to reveal the news, Matthew called his daughters right away. “They were thrilled and said, ‘Are you kidding me?’ I also told my friends, and I think they were even more excited than I was,” he chuckled.

The excitement continued when Matthew stepped up to the BIG SPIN Wheel at the OLG Prize Centre, ready to find out how much he’d be taking home. Surrounded by cheers from the audience, he gave the wheel a powerful spin and watched in anticipation as it rotated several times before landing on a $275,000 prize. “I knew I’d be leaving with at least $100,000, but when it landed on $275,000, I was overjoyed,” he said.

Matthew plans to pay some bills, share some of his winnings with his mother, take a vacation, and save for retirement.

“This is a huge opportunity for me to do a lot of things,” he beamed. “It’s been the most incredible experience.”
