TORONTO, ON – Junior H. of Scarborough won “Ontario’s jackpot” – $250,000 in the September 5, 2026 LOTTARIO draw.

The 68-year-old said he’s been playing the lottery with OLG weekly for over 20 years. Many years ago, Junior was part of a lottery group that won a $100,000 prize and his share was $20,000. This time he is excited that the jackpot prize is all his! “I was at the store when I checked my ticket and I was absolutely stunned,” shared Junior while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I couldn’t believe I actually won. I was overwhelmed with excitement – my whole world felt like it was spinning!”

“I feel like a kid in a candy store,” Junior continued. “I can’t even begin to describe the amount of joy this win has brought me. It’s an out of body experience.”

He plans to put his win toward a down payment on a house.

LOTTARIO launched in 1978 as Ontario’s first terminal lotto game. Tickets are $1 and the draws take place every Saturday. Tickets purchased before 11:59 p.m. on Fridays are eligible for the Early Bird draw. Visit the LOTTARIO page on OLG.ca for more information.
