TORONTO, ON – Saying “yes” to ENCORE paid off for Paul Q. of Ancaster. He matched all seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the April 8, 2026 LOTTO 6/49 draw to win $1 million!

Paul, who works as a pool operator, said he plays the lottery with OLG about once a month. He’s delighted to share the story of his first major win and the thrill of becoming a millionaire!

Paul said he and his wife were on their way to the library one morning when they stopped at the gas station. While there, he decided to check his ticket, completely unaware of the surprise that lay in store for him.

“My wife was waiting in the car, so I called her and asked her to come into the store immediately,” he recalled during his visit to the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his winnings. “We were in shock! We sat in the car for a few minutes in disbelief.”

When asked what it’s like to win big, Paul said, “It’s surreal and life-changing. I just keep pinching myself to make sure it’s not a dream! Walking into the Prize Centre today, I felt like I was floating.”

With his windfall, he plans to make investments for his son’s future and take a family trip to Hawaii. “It would be really special to get the whole family together. We also want to go to Italy at some point,” he concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased at Sobeys on Golf Links Road in Ancaster.
