UPDATE ON $40 MILLION LOTTO MAX TICKET SOLD IN GREY COUNTY
TORONTO, ON – With just hours to go before the $40 million LOTTO MAX ticket sold in Grey County was to expire, the ticket was validated at an OLG lottery terminal at an authorized lottery retailer.
The ticket, which was sold for the October 28, 2025 LOTTO MAX draw was set to expire at midnight. However, a ticket was validated through an OLG lottery terminal before it expired, and it registered as the $40 million ticket!
OLG has made contact with the person(s) that validated the ticket. The next step is for OLG to meet with the person(s) in order to determine if they are the rightful owner(s) of the ticket. OLG has very detailed information about this winning ticket. Because the ticket was purchased at a lottery retailer, we don’t know the identity of the person or group that purchased it. As with all OLG prize claims of over $1000, a review process is conducted to determine the rightful ownership of the ticket.
If the rightful ownership is determined, then OLG will hold a winner celebration and share their story with the media and the public as part of our winner disclosure process.
Until then, OLG will take the time needed to determine the rightful ownership of the $40 million LOTTO MAX ticket.
Information about other unclaimed tickets can be found on the OLG.ca Unclaimed Tickets page.
