Toronto, ON – Pedro D. of Milton can “find his possible” after winning a LOTTO 6/49 second prize worth $257,439.90 in the August 5, 2026 draw.

Pedro, who is originally from Brazil, moved to Canada about 10 years ago.

“I’ve been playing the lottery with OLG for a long time, and I always select Quick Picks,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his windfall.

Pedro said he stopped by the store to pick up a few things and remembered he had a ticket to check.

“I handed it to the clerk and she scanned it for me. Then the machine froze and I heard the winning tune,” he recalled. “I didn’t know what was happening! I knew I’d won a big prize, but I didn’t know how much until I saw the amount on the validation slip. I couldn’t believe it! The other customers in the store started congratulating me.”

The father of three and grandfather of three shared the news with his family, who were thrilled for him.

“My family is the key to my happiness. Helping them and building something together means everything to me. This money will be life-changing for us,” he said with a smile.

Pedro plans to put his winnings toward his dream of opening a Brazilian bakery.
