Toronto, ON – The LOTTO MAX odds have shone in favour of Andrew Smith of Pickering! He won a MAXMILLIONS prize worth $1 million in the May 21, 2024 LOTTO MAX draw.

Andrew has been playing the lottery with OLG for 20 years and regularly picks up a LOTTO MAX ticket, making sure to always add ENCORE. “I checked my ticket on the ticket checker and refused to believe it after the first scan,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his windfall. “I had to have the store clerk double check it to be sure. I was in utter disbelief and shock!”

He first shared the news of his win with his wife. “She was in shock too, asking me, ‘Did you count the zeros?’” he laughed.

“We are overwhelmed thinking about what to do next, but it does help to calm life down,” Andrew concluded.

While he may not have it all figured out yet, Andrew shared he does plan to take his wife and daughter to Disneyland and to travel.

LOTTO MAX players in Ontario have won over $8 billion since 2009, including 105 jackpot wins and 879 MAXMILLIONS prizes, right across the province. LOTTO MAX is $5 per play and draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The winning ticket was purchased at Smoker’s Corner on Kingston Road in Pickering.
