Toronto, ON – Christopher Minister of Newmarket can “find his possible” after winning a LOTTO 6/49 prize worth $1 million in the Gold Ball Draw on October 2, 2024.

Christopher, who works in the construction industry, has been a regular lottery player with OLG for the last 10 years. He enjoys trying all the games available, always making sure to pick up his LOTTO 6/49 and LOTTO MAX tickets. Sometimes, Chris plays his own numbers, while other times he uses OLG’s Quick Pick feature to make his selections. He is excited to share the news of his first big win!

“I had just finished my workday when I stopped at the store to check my ticket,” Christopher said, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his windfall. “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing on the ticket checker, and I started shaking. I think I scanned my ticket five or six times, counting the zeros to make sure it was real.”

Eager to reveal the news, Christopher called his family. “I said, ‘I won a million dollars in the lottery!’ They didn’t believe me at first, given some of my past pranks,” he laughed. “I shared the winning numbers, and in the end, they were so happy for me.”

“I feel thankful for this win. It’s a blessing that came at the perfect time in my life. I work a very physical job, and this win feels like freedom,” Christopher smiled. “I will use this prize to enjoy a fantastic retirement, prioritizing myself and my well-being. I also plan to travel to visit family so we can celebrate together,” he concluded.

LOTTO 6/49 offers players a chance to win two multi-million dollar jackpots every Wednesday and Saturday, for the same $3 per play.
