TORONTO, ON – Saying “yes” to ENCORE paid off for Piara Batth of Mississauga. He matched all seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the May 14, 2024 LOTTO MAX draw to win $1 million!

Piara, a retiree, has been playing the lottery with OLG for 15 years. His favorite game is LOTTO MAX and he always makes sure to add ENCORE to his tickets. “I used the ticket checker while I was at the store and couldn’t believe it when I saw all the zeros,” Piara recalled, when visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I can’t explain the emotions I felt in the moment. I ran out to my car, but couldn’t drive,” he laughed.

“When I got home, I told my son and daughter and asked them to confirm the number of zeros I was seeing. My son was in full denial,” Piara smiled.

With his windfall, Piara plans to pay off his mortgage and travel.

The winning ticket was purchased at Pearson Mart on Vanguard Drive in Mississauga.
