OLG is committed to the journey of improving equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) across our organization and treating EDI as a key performance driver for our strategic priorities. To ensure we are doing our absolute best in these efforts, we put forth our EDI principles for evaluation and analysis through the Diversio Certification process earlier this year. OLG is proud to be among the inaugural cohort of 80 organizations to receive certification, signifying that we are indeed on the right track.

Diversio Certification is an authentic signal that a company is taking meaningful action on equity, diversity and inclusion. It is endorsed by multiple organizations including the Human Resources Professional Association, Business Development Bank of Canada, the City of Toronto, the Responsible Investment Association and the Investor Leadership Network. It signals that an organization is “walking the talk” on equity, diversity and inclusion.

Meeting the Diversio global standard for inclusion means that we have measured and continue to set targets to increase diversity at all levels, we regularly collect data on employee inclusion to identify bias and barriers faced by marginalized employees, and we have implemented interventions designed to unlock specific challenges while tracking our results.

"Beyond our regular EDI activities, we are taking action to address inequities across the organization through the intentional work under the five-year EDI Strategy."

Beyond our regular EDI activities, we are taking action to address inequities across the organization through the intentional work under the five-year EDI Strategy.

The additional actions include:

  1. Implementing specific talent targets to sustain and improve our diverse workforce.
  2. Launching mentoring and career developing programs which will provide specific opportunities to racialized employees
  3. Broadening EDI education for all employees – this includes mandatory anti-racism training in fiscal 2022.

When put into action, these interventions will allow OLG to strengthen organizational health by fostering employee equity and inclusion.

OLG actively embraces diverse perspectives and talents which are inherent in the cultural richness of Ontario and Canada. We value equity, diversity and inclusion as key cornerstones of driving a fun, inclusive and performance-driven culture that is a destination for top talent which allows us to better provide for the people and the province of Ontario.
