TORONTO, ON – Saying “yes” to ENCORE paid off for David Scott of Kitchener. He matched all seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the October 18, 2025 LOTTARIO draw to win $1 million!

David, who is self-employed, has been playing the lottery with OLG for over 40 years. “I play every week,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his winnings. “I won $700 once, but this is my first major win. I always say yes to ENCORE!”

The 64-year-old was getting ready to watch the NFL game when he remembered he had a few tickets to check. He scanned them using the OLG app and discovered his big win. “I thought the app was broken,” he said with a laugh. “On the same day I found out I won, the Toronto Blue Jays and my favourite NFL team, the Cleveland Browns, also won — I thought, ‘Wow, this day can’t get any better! It was a great Sunday!”

David told his wife and son about his win right away. “They were so happy,” he recalled with a smile. “I tease my wife all the time, so at first, she didn’t believe me when I told her. She double-checked the ticket on her phone and was in shock.”

“This win is life-changing,” David continued. “You just can’t fathom it until you experience it.”

The father of three and grandfather of two said this win came at the perfect time. “I’ll be finished with some contract work at the end of the month, so I’ll be able to spend more time with my family. I also plan to pay some bills and do a couple of home renovations. I think we’ll go somewhere nice for my 65^th birthday in March,” he concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased at A Quick Stop Variety on Doon South Drive in Kitchener.
