Toronto, ON – Mildred Bernice Cameron of Hepworth is celebrating after winning a $250,000 top prize with INSTANT CROSSWORD DELUXE (Game #3353).

Mildred Bernice, a mother and grandmother, has been playing the lottery with OLG for about 10 years. She enjoys playing INSTANT tickets, including CROSSWORD and BINGO. “I love the anticipation and interactive aspect of these games,” she expressed, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim her windfall. “When I purchase my tickets, I always like to pick the second one in the display case. Perhaps two is my lucky number!”

The retiree was playing her ticket at home when she discovered she won big. “I was keeping a tally of the number of words I matched,” she recalled. “At first, I thought I had revealed 10 words and was like, ‘Cool, I won $25,000!’ Then, I uncovered an eleventh and thought I’d better count again.”

Mildred Bernice brought her ticket to the store to have it validated. “When they triple-checked it, I got so nervous,” she said. That nervousness soon gave way to excitement, as it was confirmed that she had, in fact, won $250,000.

Mildred Bernice called her children to share the great news. “The first thing I asked was, “Are you sitting down?’ When I told my daughter how much I won, she said, ‘Mom, are you sure it’s not $25,000?’ I replied ‘Nope – it’s $250,000!’ My son immediately began helping me with the next steps. He’s the first person our family relies on for help. My children were both so happy for me and said I deserve this win.”

For the time being, Mildred Bernice plans to save her winnings.

INSTANT CROSSWORD DELUXE is available for $10 a play and the top prize is $250,000. Odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.46.

The winning ticket was purchased at Cindy’s Variety on Bruce Street in Hepworth.
