Toronto, ON – Evelyn McGouran of Gloucester can realize her dreams after winning a $1 million MAXMILLIONS prize in the September 13, 2024 LOTTO MAX draw.

Evelyn, a retiree, has been playing the lottery with OLG since the launch of WINTARIO in 1975. While she typically chooses her own numbers, it was a Quick Pick LOTTO MAX ticket that has her celebrating her first big win!

“I was at the casino with my husband. He went to bring the car around to pick me up at the front doors, and while I was waiting, I decided to pick up a LOTTO MAX ticket,” Evelyn recounted, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim her winnings. “It was the Saturday after the draw when I decided to check the winning numbers on my tablet. I started to review the MAXMILLIONS wins and realized I had a match!”

“My heart was racing, and my husband was cautious. It was hard to believe I actually won big. After having a bite to eat, I went to the store to have my ticket validated. It was exciting to see the big slip print, confirming that I had won,” Evelyn smiled.

Evelyn plans to share her windfall with those in need and those she loves. “I will donate to my local humane society and community food bank. I will also share with close family members,” she concluded.  

LOTTO MAX players in Ontario have won over $8 billion since 2009, including 108 jackpot wins and 919 MAXMILLIONS prizes, right across the province. LOTTO MAX is $5 per play and draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The winning ticket was purchased at Rideau Carleton Casino on Albion Road in Gloucester.
