TORONTO, ON – Pierce Lapensee of Brockville is $5 million richer after winning a top prize with INSTANT EXTREME (Game #2209).

Pierce, 38, has been playing the lottery with OLG since he was old enough to buy a ticket. A dedicated weekly player, he enjoys a variety of games, including LOTTO MAX, LOTTO 6/49, PROLINE, and a range of INSTANT tickets. Now, the father of three is thrilled to share the story of his first big win, courtesy of INSTANT EXTREME.

“I went to drop my child off at school, and on my way back home, I thought to myself, ‘I have enough time to buy a ticket,’” Pierce recounted, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his winnings. “I picked up an INSTANT EXTREME ticket and played it in my car. When I realized it was a winner, I started shaking!”

Pierce scanned his ticket using the OLG app on his phone and was shocked to see the words ‘Big Winner’ on the screen.

“I texted my partner, ‘We need to talk,’” he recalled. “When I went to share the news with her in person, I handed her the winning ticket and asked, ‘Do you want to buy a house?’ She was just as surprised as I was and was very overwhelmed. We were both filled with pure joy.”

Later on, Pierce passed along the exciting news to his parents. “They were super happy for us,” he said with a warm smile.

When asked how it feels to win the lottery, Pierce said, “This win has lifted some weight off my shoulders. I’m still in complete disbelief!”

With his prize money, Pierce plans to buy a house, save for his children’s education, and invest for the future.
