TORONTO, ON – Saying “yes” to ENCORE paid off for Jeyakumar Rajaratnam of Brampton. He matched all seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the August 14, 2024 LOTTO 6/49 draw to win $1 million!

Jeyakumar, a father and grandfather, has been playing the lottery with OLG for more than 20 years. He enjoys playing LOTTO MAX and LOTTO 6/49, using OLG’s Quick Pick feature to make his selections. He is now celebrating his first big win!

“I checked my ticket using the OLG app and thought I had won $1,000. I stared closely at the screen and quickly realized how much I had really won,” Jeyakumar recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I was so shocked, I froze. It was such a happy moment!”

Jeyakumar was eager to share the news with his family. “I first told my wife and my daughter. I think they were more excited than I was,” he laughed. “This is truly a blessing!”

With his windfall, Jeyakumar plans to pay off some bills and his mortgage.

The winning ticket was purchased at Woodbine Racetrack on Rexdale Boulevard in Etobicoke.
