Toronto, ON – Sisir Acharya of Brampton can realize his dreams after winning a $1 million MAXMILLIONS prize in the December 3, 2024 LOTTO MAX draw.

Sisir, who works in logistics, has been playing the lottery with OLG for many years. He enjoys playing LOTTO MAX and LOTTO 6/49 weekly, and occasionally tries his luck with INSTANT tickets. The father of three won $1,000 with PROLINE many years ago, but nothing could have prepared him for his first big win and the thrill of becoming a millionaire with LOTTO MAX!

“It was the day after the draw when I decided to check my ticket on the OLG app,” Sisir recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I couldn’t believe what I was seeing! I must have scanned it seven or eight times. My stomach was filled with butterflies and my heart was racing. I tried some meditation to calm myself, yet I still couldn’t sleep all night.”

“When I told my wife, there were tears of joy and excitement,” Sisir smiled. “We felt a sense of relief knowing that our dream of homeownership was now possible.”

With his windfall, Sisir also plans to purchase a new home, share with his daughters, and visit the U.S. and Dubai with his wife. “I will retire early and continue to play the lottery too. If you don’t play, you don’t win” he concluded.

LOTTO MAX players in Ontario have won over $8.9 billion since 2009, including 111 jackpot wins and 937 MAXMILLIONS prizes, right across the province. LOTTO MAX is $5 per play and draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The winning ticket was purchased at Petro-Canada on Main Street South in Brampton.
