COWORKERS FROM BRIGHTON AND OSHAWA SHARE $284,652 LOTTO 6/49 WIN
Toronto, ON – Tracey Latimer of Brighton and Meghan Mundie of Oshawa can “find their possible” after winning a LOTTO 6/49 second prize worth $284,652.10 in the August 20, 2025 LOTTO 6/49 draw.
Tracey and Meghan, who work together in the manufacturing industry, started playing the lottery together this past January.
Tracey said she discovered their win when she checked their ticket on the OLG app. Overwhelmed with excitement, she immediately called Meghan to share the news.
“I was walking my dog at the time,” said Meghan. “At first, I thought she was crying and needed help. When she told me we’d won, I was just in shock — complete shock.”
Meghan plans to purchase a car with her portion of the windfall, while Tracey will take some time to consider how she’ll spend hers.
LOTTO 6/49 offers players a chance to win two multi-million dollar jackpots every Wednesday and Saturday, for the same $3 per play.
The Classic Draw offers a fixed $5 million jackpot for every draw, while the Gold Ball Draw guarantees a $1 million prize, or the growing jackpot that starts at $10 million and can exceed $60 million. Click here for more information about the new LOTTO 6/49.
The winning ticket was purchased at Castleton General Store on Percy Street in Castleton.
