Toronto, ON – Robert and Gena Kenny of Wainfleet can “find their possible” after winning a LOTTO 6/49 prize worth $1 million in the Gold Ball Draw on August 16, 2025.

Robert and Gena, who have been married for 27 years, are loyal lottery players with OLG. They like to play their own numbers, which are special to them. While on the phone, Robert told Gena he was going to stop at the store to check their tickets on his way home from work. Gena responded, “Call me back when we’re millionaires.”

When he checked their ticket, Robert couldn’t believe his eyes. “I started shaking. Then I quickly called Gena and told her we’d won $1 million. She said, ‘Oh, right. Come on! Don’t joke about things like that!’” Robert sent Gena a photo as proof of their win. “I was in total shock,” Gena recalled.

The couple told their parents about their astonishing win. “They were so happy for us. My mom began to cry when we told her,” Gena shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect their windfall. “I can’t even begin to describe this feeling,” Robert added.

For years, Robert and Gena had dreamed of this moment, often asking each other, “What’s the first thing we’d do if we ever won $1 million?” Smiling, they agreed, “This truly is a dream come true!”

They plan to put their winnings toward bills and early retirement. “We will truly start enjoying our lives,” they concluded.
