TORONTO, ON – Saying “yes” to ENCORE paid off for Jennifer Cohoe of Welland. She matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the August 16, 2025 LOTTO 6/49 draw to win $1 million!

Jennifer, who works as a teacher, has been a loyal lottery player with OLG for about 30 years. She exclusively plays LOTTO 6/49, always adding ENCORE to her tickets. The married mother of one was out shopping with her son when she decided to pick up a lottery ticket. Little did she know that ticket would soon lead her to her first major win!

“I was checking my tickets at home one morning when I discovered I’d won big,” Jennifer shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect her winnings. “I was shocked and yelled for my husband, saying, ‘I think I won $1 million!’ We were both very happy and surprised.”

Jennifer called her sister to share the incredible news. “She was also shocked and excited. She came over to our house with champagne to celebrate!"

With her windfall, Jennifer plans to pay off her mortgage, go on a family vacation, and invest.

“I feel very fortunate. Being a winner takes your breath away,” she concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased at Kay’s Korner Variety on Thorold Road in Welland.
