Toronto, ON – Wendy Pritchard of Wasaga Beach is celebrating after winning a $250,000 top prize with INSTANT CROSSWORD DELUXE (Game #3356). 

Wendy, a retiree, has been a loyal lottery player with OLG since the days of WINTARIO. She enjoys playing draw-based games like LOTTARIO, along with a variety of INSTANT tickets. “INSTANT games were a shared joy between me and my mother-in-law,” she explained. “CROSSWORDS were always her favourite. She would take her time and scratch them very carefully — with chopsticks!”

Now, Wendy is thrilled to share the story of her first big win.

“I was buying tickets to put away as gifts and spotted two that I felt like playing, so I picked them up for myself,” she recounted, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect her windfall.

Wendy said she spent the weekend with family, and one morning while they were relaxing together, she decided to check her ticket. “When I discovered it was a big winner, I was in disbelief and thought there had been a mistake,” she recalled. “I double-checked the words many times. At first, I thought I’d won $250. Then my husband said, ‘It’s $25,000!’ We checked it again and were astonished to realize it was really $250,000!”

Bursting with joy, Wendy immediately shared the news with her family. “They were incredibly grateful,” she reflected with a smile.

With her winnings, she plans to support her family and enjoy a comfortable retirement. “The little everyday things are going to be much nicer.”

The first thing Wendy will do is enjoy a nice dinner with her loved ones. “We want to fill out our bucket list! This win will definitely add some excitement to our lives,” she concluded.

INSTANT CROSSWORD DELUXE is available for $10 a play and the top prize is $250,000. Odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.46. 

The winning ticket was purchased at Playtime Casino Wasaga Beach on Joseph Drive in Wasaga Beach.
