MISSISSAUGA RESIDENT CELEBRATING $357,982 LOTTARIO JACKPOT WIN
TORONTO, ON – Saranda Zhuri of Mississauga won “Ontario’s jackpot” – $357,982.50 in the October 5, 2024 LOTTARIO draw.
Saranda, who works at a dental office, has been playing LOTTARIO every week for 20 years. She alternates between Quick Picks and numbers she has chosen based on special family birthdays. The mother of two is excited to share the news of her first big win!
“I was at home when my husband headed to the plaza to get us coffees and check my tickets. He came home sooner than I expected and told me the good news. He was so excited that he forgot our coffees,” Saranda laughed, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings. “I was in a state of shock for two full days. It was all a blur.”
“We’ve only shared the news with our daughters. They weren’t sure how to react at first because it felt so unreal, but they are very happy,” Saranda smiled. “This win is a huge blessing for our family.”
“Winning comes with a life-changing feeling. I will take it easy, one day at a time. While we need a few things, like a new car, we won’t rush to make any decisions,” Saranda concluded.
LOTTARIO launched in 1978 as Ontario’s first terminal lotto game. Tickets are $1 and the draws take place every Saturday. Tickets purchased before 11:59 p.m. on Fridays are eligible for the Early Bird draw. Visit the LOTTARIO page on OLG.ca for more information.
The winning ticket was purchased at Smokes & Lotto on Burnhamthorpe Road East in Mississauga.
