Toronto, ON – John Rahey and Sandra Goudey of Kingston can realize their dreams after winning a $1 million MAXMILLIONS prize in the August 6, 2024 LOTTO MAX draw.

John and Sandra have been playing the lottery together for more than 20 years. They enjoy a variety of games including LOTTO MAX, LOTTO 6/49, and the occasional INSTANT ticket. Together, they are celebrating their first big win!

“I checked our ticket using the OLG app before heading out to work. I was shocked when I saw the ‘Big Winner’ message and the prize amount. It was great to win after all these years of playing,” John expressed, while he and Sandra visited the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up their winnings.

“At first, I didn’t believe him and made him check our ticket again” Sandra laughed. “I didn’t believe it until we spoke with OLG.”

“I enjoy playing LOTTO MAX. It’s fun!” said Sandra. “You have to keep the faith and believe it’s possible to win,” John concluded.

John and Sandra will put their windfall towards their retirement.

LOTTO MAX players in Ontario have won over $8 billion since 2009, including 108 jackpot wins and 919 MAXMILLIONS prizes, right across the province. LOTTO MAX is $5 per play and draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The winning ticket was purchased at Pioneer/On the Run on Midland Avenue in Kingston.
