TORONTO, ON – Saying “yes” to ENCORE paid off for Jerry Romanoff of St. Catharines. He matched all seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the August 3, 2024 DAILY KENO evening draw to win $1 million!

Jerry, a retiree, has been playing the lottery with OLG for about 25 years. He is a regular player who enjoys playing LOTTO 6/49, ONTARIO 49, and LOTTARIO on the weekends. Jerry likes to select his own special numbers and always makes sure to add ENCORE to his tickets.

“It was early Sunday morning when I scanned my ticket on the OLG app,” Jerry recalled, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I didn’t have my glasses on and thought I saw a prize of $125. This would make sense as a prize for a DAILY KENO win, but then I noticed a bunch of zeros. I stared at my phone screen for about 20 seconds before it finally hit me that I may have won on ENCORE. When I checked the winning ENCORE number and saw that my ticket matched, my heart started racing. I turned to my wife saying, ‘I think I won big!’”

In a moment of eager anticipation, Jerry headed to the store to have his ticket validated. “Once it was confirmed that my win was real, I called my wife back. She was so happy and excited for us,” Jerry said with a big smile.

Jerry plans to share his windfall with family and plan a nice trip for him and his wife.

“Winning is an overwhelming feeling. It’s amazing,” he concluded.

The winning ticket was purchased at Avondale on Linwell Road in St. Catharines.
