Toronto, ON – The LOTTO MAX odds have shone in favour of Belinda and Ian Park of Kitchener! They won a MAXMILLIONS prize worth $1 million in the July 26, 2024 LOTTO MAX draw.

Belinda and Ian, parents and grandparents, have been married and playing the lottery together for 31 years. Ian likes to pick up LOTTO MAX and LOTTO 6/49 tickets when the jackpots are high. He uses OLG’s Quick Pick feature to select their numbers, and always says ‘yes’ to ENCORE. Together they’re now celebrating their first big win and the thrill of becoming millionaires!

“I went to the store to pick up our tickets and check a few from previous draws. I scanned the first ticket on the ticket checker and thought I saw ‘$100,000’ appear on the screen,” Ian recalled, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect their windfall. “Once the clerk was finished with other customers, I asked her to look at what I was seeing. I scanned the ticket again and she said, ’OMG! You won $1 million!’ Instantly, I could feel myself turning red. She validated the ticket on the lottery terminal and that’s when it sunk in. I knew I had to tell Belinda immediately!”

Belinda arrived home from work, unaware of the incredible news Ian was about to share with her. “He showed me the ticket and said, ‘We’re millionaires!’ All I could say was, ‘No way! We’re millionaires? I can’t believe it!’”

“When we told our families, they were so happy and excited for us,” said Ian. “We celebrated with everyone. Winning is an unbelievable feeling. We are both so happy,” he concluded.

With their winnings, Belinda and Ian plan to pay off their house, help their children, and save for their retirement next year.

LOTTO MAX players in Ontario have won over $8 billion since 2009, including 106 jackpot wins and 905 MAXMILLIONS prizes, right across the province. LOTTO MAX is $5 per play and draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The winning ticket was purchased at Rexall on Ottawa Street in Kitchener.
