Toronto, ON – The LOTTO MAX odds have shone in favour of Steven Williams of Kingston! He won a MAXMILLIONS prize worth $1 million in the July 26, 2024 LOTTO MAX draw.

Steven, a retiree, has been playing the lottery with OLG for about 15 years. He is a weekly player who loves to play LOTTO MAX and LOTTO 6/49. He uses OLG’s Quick Pick feature to make his selections and always makes sure to add ENCORE to his tickets.

“I was at the store scanning my ticket on the ticket checker. When I saw the prize amount, I think I scanned it six more times,” recalled Steven, while at the OLG Prize Centre to pick up his windfall. “The lady waiting behind me even asked, ‘Is that what I think it is?’ and we shared a laugh. I think I was frozen with disbelief!”

Steven was not the only one left stunned by the news of his win. “When I told my family, they couldn’t believe it either. I had to show them the validation slip for them to believe me,” he smiled. “My sister was quick to say, ‘I’ve never met a lottery winner before!’ and we all shared a laugh.”

When asked what he will do with his winnings, Steven said, “I haven’t even thought about it yet! I still don’t think it has fully registered, but it’s a pretty great feeling.”

LOTTO MAX players in Ontario have won over $8 billion since 2009, including 106 jackpot wins and 881 MAXMILLIONS prizes, right across the province. LOTTO MAX is $5 per play and draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The winning ticket was purchased at King Mart on King Street in Kingston.
