Toronto, ON – The LOTTO MAX odds have shone in favour of Kristen Casselman of Brinston! She won a MAXMILLIONS prize worth $1 million in the May 31, 2024 LOTTO MAX draw.

Kristen, a self-described cat and dog mom, plays the lottery occasionally and picks up tickets when the mood strikes her. She especially likes playing LOTTO MAX and INSTANT tickets. In fact, it was a LOTTO MAX Free Play and a quick stop at the store for hairspray that led to her first big win!

“I was about to head out to pick up some groceries when I remembered to check my LOTTO MAX Free Play ticket,” she recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to claim her windfall. “When I started matching several numbers, I had to collect myself, slow down, and check them again. I realized they all matched and ran to tell my partner.”

After double-checking the ticket and the winning numbers, Kristen’s partner suggested she head to the store to have her ticket validated, just to be sure it was true. “I looked at him and said, ‘You have to drive. I am not driving like this,’” she laughed. “I was giddy with joy!”

“Winning feels pretty darn great,” said Kristen with a big smile. “It’s surreal and unbelievable, but it’s true!”

Kristen plans to keep the bottle of hairspray she purchased at the same time she collected her winning Free Play ticket as a memento of her win.

“I also plan to renovate my home,” she shared. “I am so excited to have my floors redone. I’d love to take my partner on a relaxing beach vacation too, to soak up the sun,” she concluded.

LOTTO MAX players in Ontario have won over $8 billion since 2009, including 105 jackpot wins and 879 MAXMILLIONS prizes, right across the province. LOTTO MAX is $5 per play and draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The winning ticket was purchased at Seaway Valley Pharmacy on Main Street in Winchester.
