TORONTO, ON – Life is a little more “grand” for George and Angela Flowers of Mississauga. They matched all five main numbers to win a second prize of $25,000 a year for life with DAILY GRAND in the April 8, 2024 draw.

George and Angela, who are both retired, have been playing the lottery together for 20 years. While Angela enjoys playing LOTTO MAX and LOTTO 6/49, George’s favorite game is DAILY GRAND. Together, they are celebrating their first big win.

“We went to the store to check our existing tickets and pick up a couple new ones. Angela was in line, when I scanned our DAILY GRAND ticket on the ticket checker,” George recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up their winnings. “I saw we had won $25,000 a year for life! I went over to Angela and said, ‘I think we won some money,’” he smiled.

“When he came over to me, I said, ‘Really?’ and handed the ticket to the store clerk, asking that they check it to make sure. Sure enough, it was real! My cheeks hurt from smiling so much,” Angela said, with a laugh. “When we told our kids, they were so happy for us.”

“It’s a good feeling,” George concluded.

George and Angela plan to travel, do some home renovations, and share with family.

DAILY GRAND is a national lottery game with a top prize of $1,000 a day for life for matching the five main numbers plus the Grand Number. The second prize is $25,000 a year for life for matching the five main numbers. DAILY GRAND is $3 per play and draws take place on Mondays and Thursdays.

The winning ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven on Lisgar Drive in Mississauga.
