TORONTO RESIDENTS DREAM TO THE MAX WITH A $44 MILLION LOTTO MAX WIN

Toronto, ON Elizabeth Lumbo and Arlene Lumbo of Toronto can “Dream to the Max” after winning the $44,023,273.40 LOTTO MAX jackpot in the July 20, 2021 draw. The former wife and husband, who are now best of friends, played together and matched all seven numbers to win the life-changing prize.

Elizabeth and her former husband, Arlene, each received an equal share of the $44 million jackpot worth $22,011,636.

Elizabeth, who was in charge of buying the lottery tickets, said she started choosing the numbers when the pandemic began. “The numbers that won this prize were selected by my daughter and comprised of family birthdates,” she shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her share of the winnings.

While out running errands, Elizabeth stopped to check the tickets. “I heard the jingle play on the Ticket Checker and when I looked at the screen, I told the clerk something was wrong with the machine,” she explained. “I handed him my ticket to scan, and he told me I won the jackpot! When I realized we won $44 million, tears started running down my cheeks.”

Elizabeth then called the family to share the big news. “Our children couldn’t believe it, so I sent them a photo of my ticket. They were so happy for us!” she smiled.

The main priority for their windfall is to find a property where the whole family – Elizabeth, Arlene and their children – can live in their own houses, but close together. “It’s a beautiful thing to have raised children who have plans on how they want to build their lives. Now we can make that happen. I feel overwhelmed with gratitude. I am humbled by this blessing.”

As well, Elizabeth, who is a customer service representative, plans to work a few more years until retirement and then spend her time traveling the world when the pandemic is over.

“I’m still going to play LOTTO MAX! I don’t want to miss out on the fun – and the winning jingle on the lottery terminal is a tune I love to hear now!” she concluded.
