SUDBURY RESIDENT WINS $50,010 WITH ONTARIO 49

TORONTO, ON Daniel Beaulieu of Sudbury is celebrating after winning an ONTARIO 49 second prize worth $50,000 in the September 9, 2020 draw. Daniel matched five numbers plus the bonus number to win the prize. He also won an additional $10 on another selection on the same ticket, bringing his total winnings to $50,010.

A 60-year-old father and grandfather, Daniel chooses his own numbers – special family dates and events. He discovered his win while at a retailer. “I went to the store to replay my numbers,” he shared, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his cheque. “That’s when the lottery terminal froze. I had no idea how much I had won!”

Daniel told his daughters the good news right away. “They were so happy for me – they couldn’t believe it! Honestly, I think they were more excited than I was,” he laughed.

The explosives technician hasn’t made any plans for his winnings just yet. “I’ll put it in my retirement fund but keep a little aside so I can treat myself and celebrate,” he smiled.

OLG is now accepting in-person prize claims by-appointment only for customers with prizes of $1,000 or more who wish to claim at the OLG Prize Centre. To best protect customers and staff, OLG has put in place appropriate health and safety protocols in accordance with guidelines from public health officials, which include physical distancing measures, the mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and the pre-screening of visitors before granting entry.
