Raising the Bar for Social Responsibility

During his time as a gaming site general manager with OLG, Grant Darling saw firsthand how critically important our Responsible Gambling (RG) program is to our business—and how important it is for OLG’s land-based gaming service providers to maintain our RG standards and commitment to social responsibility. After working for OLG for 10 years, Grant joined Gateway Casinos and Entertainment in January 2017 and currently serves as Gateway’s Vice-President of Gaming Operations for Ontario. Gateway operates 11 gaming sites in the North, Southwest and Central regions of Ontario.

“One of our top priorities has been to continue OLG’s world-leading RG program,” says Grant.

More and more, I see OLG’s modernization as an opportunity for OLG and its service providers to raise the bar in responsible gambling and social responsibility standards and practices by leveraging each other’s knowledge, strengths and differences.

“Since joining Gateway, I’ve been especially impressed with our community programs. Like OLG, we are truly engaged and give more than monetary support. Our employees give their time and resources to a variety of organizations.”

In September, a group of Casino Rama Resort employees participated in a local Habitat Build Day event. The team installed vinyl siding and painted the exterior of a new home that will help ensure a stronger, more stable future for a family in need. In addition to the tremendous work completed by the volunteers, Casino Rama further contributed to the completion of the home by donating $2,500 to Habitat for Humanity Ontario Gateway North.
