Leadership and Social Responsibility
OLG has governance practices in place at different levels of the corporation to ensure that we conduct our business in a socially responsible manner. Key among them, the Social Responsibility (SR) Committee of the Board of Directors oversee and works with OLG's various departments to ensure that topics such as stakeholder engagement, responsible gambling, environmental impacts and SR evaluation and reporting are being properly addressed.
We strongly believe that honesty, integrity and an unwavering commitment to responsible gambling (RG) are vital both for building public trust and confidence in what we do, and for our ongoing success.
The service providers that have taken over the day-to-day operation of our slots and casino venues under our modernization plan are held to the same high standards that we aspire to achieve. Our contracts with them include requirements to comply with all applicable regulations set out by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, to achieve “RG Check”, the world’s most rigorous third-party standard, and to uphold the OLG standards set by PlaySmart.
Social Responsibility Reporting
OLG produced its most recent Corporate Social Responsibility Report, covering performance in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2016, in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G4 Guidelines “Core” option.
