NEWMARKET RESIDENT WINS $1 MILLION ON LOTTO 6/49 GOLD BALL DRAW
Toronto, ON – Shuai Wang of Newmarket can “find her possible” after winning a LOTTO 6/49 prize worth $1 million in the Gold Ball Draw on January 21, 2023. She also won $10 on the LOTTO 6/49 Classic Draw, bringing her total winnings to $1,000,010.
Shuai, a 40-year-old mother, said she signed up for OLG’s lottery subscription during the pandemic. “I typically play LOTTO 6/49 and LOTTO MAX,” she shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings.
The morning after the draw, Shuai saw an email from OLG, but thought it was junk and deleted it. “Later that day, I was looking at my phone and saw another email, so decided to log into my OLG account. Even then, I still thought it was a mistake,” she said. “I told my husband when he got home from walking the dog and he thought I was joking. No matter what I said, he still didn’t believe me!” she laughed.
Shuai said this win is a wonderful opportunity for her to go back to school and work on her doctorate degree. “I plan to surprise my husband with concert tickets to see his favourite band and I’m considering a family trip for some fun in the sun. We love to travel.”
“This is an unbelievable experience – as much as I’ve dreamt of this moment, it’s completely unreal,” she concluded.
LOTTO 6/49 offers players a chance to win two multi-million dollar jackpots every Wednesday and Saturday, for the same $3 per play.
The Classic Draw offers a fixed $5 million jackpot for every draw, while the Gold Ball Draw guarantees a $1 million prize, or the growing jackpot that starts at $10 million and can exceed $60 million. Click here for more information about the new LOTTO 6/49.
