Toronto, ON – James (Jim) Mennill of London can realize his dreams after winning a $500,000 MAXMILLIONS prize in the August 13, 2024 LOTTO MAX draw.

James, a retiree, has been playing the lottery with OLG for about 20 years. His game of choice is LOTTO MAX and he uses OLG’s Quick Pick feature to make his selections. The father of three and grandfather of seven, is now excited to be celebrating his first big win!

“When I had my ticket validated, I was left in disbelief,” James recalled, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up winnings. “All I could think was, ‘This can’t be happening!’ I first told my wife and I think I ruined her golf game,” James laughed. “She was so surprised! Winning the lottery is not something you can anticipate!”

James will take some time to decide what he will do with his windfall.

LOTTO MAX players in Ontario have won over $8 billion since 2009, including 107 jackpot wins and 914 MAXMILLIONS prizes, right across the province. LOTTO MAX is $5 per play and draws take place on Tuesdays and Fridays.

The winning ticket was purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart on Wonderland Road South in London.
